About Me
My name is Brian Stoiber and I live just south of Chicago, IL. I have been working as a web and graphic designer for 12 years and pursue photography as a hobby. I like to believe my sense of design was inherited from my mother who is director of the Art Department at Joliet Catholic Academy High School which is also where I graduated from. She strongly influenced my decision to attend the University of St. Francis and major in Mass Communications with a concentration in Web Design, Graphic Design and Photography. Although the majority of my work is in design and I do not get nearly enough time to enjoy photography, I try to get a couple good shots here and there.
What I Do
I collaborate with clients to determine their needs, requirements and goals to design user experiences and interfaces for the web. Isn’t that what all developers want to do? Make the client happy…and do it with a little style. I also pursue photography as a part time hobby.
What I Love
I am obsessed with order and all technologies. Seeing innovative products makes me want to make innovative designs. It is a relationship that I have loved since I was young and took apart my first computer…and got yelled at. HTML5, CSS3 and WordPress consume my computer life.
Where I Reside
I work for a small company outside of Chicago that produces Laser Templating devices. On a daily basis I am their Director of Marketing, Web Development, and Technical Support departments (small company means multiple jobs). Then I head home to begin working on all my freelance jobs.
Resume
I learned to code my first website with my Uncle Dave when I was in 8th grade (1996) and have been hooked ever since. Throughout high school I made a few small website for local churches and their organizations. In college I studied website design and graphic design and since then have been designing websites in all kinds of industries. See what I have done.
Running
I used to run while in high school for wrestling and volleyball. During college I focused mainly on my studies so running kind of fell by the wayside. I have recently started again and in my first 5k since starting back up, I finished 43 out of 269. with a personal record of 26:20.
Cycling
Beside running, I have been an avid cyclist for over 10 years. During the warmer months, I try to get out on the road 3-4 times a week for a couple hours each time. There is just something about riding in between corn fields on rural roads with the hot sun shining down on your back that makes life so much better.
